Conference Overview & Highlights
“Surface Engineering Shaping Future Technologies”
Join us at the Town & Country Hotel in San Diego to highlight new research and share years of memories as we prepare to set sail toward new and exciting destinations!
The 53rd International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (ICMCTF 2027) will be held April 25-30, 2027, at the Town & Country Resort in San Diego, California, USA. ICMCTF covers the fields of thin film deposition, characterization, and advanced surface engineering, promoting a global exchange of ideas and information among scientists, technologists, and manufacturers. The overarching theme of ICMCTF 2027, “Surface Engineering Shaping Future Technologies,” emphasizes the critical role of surface engineering in enabling emerging technologies and sustainable development. Key focus areas include advanced energy systems, sustainable and circular surface solutions, performance in extreme environments, emerging thin films in computing technologies, and functional surfaces for healthcare and biotechnology applications.
The Conference includes more than 100 high-profile invited speakers across over 25 sessions, encompassing topical symposia, plenary and keynote lectures, short courses, an awards program, and daily networking events. An exhibition of equipment, materials, technical literature, and emerging technologies is a key part of the conference. Attendees from around the world come to present their latest findings, exchange ideas, establish collaborations, and help shape the future of surface engineering and thin film technologies.
